Why did I receive a tax assessment for multiple years?
Did you receive multiple bills for water authority tax? Or shorty after each other? That can happen.
We upgraded our IT infrastructure for water authority tax. This caused a delay in sending out the assessments. That is why received the water tax assessment later than usual. We understand this can be quite inconvenient for you and apologise in advance.
Did we deduct multiple amounts from your bank account?
Did you receive multiple water authority tax assessments? And did you choose to pay in instalments with direct debit? Then it's possible that we will deduct multiple amounts each month. For example, one of the amount may be an instalment for last year’s assessment. And the other amount may be an instalment for this year’s assessment.

Can't pay everything in one go?
You may choose to pay your water authority taxes in instalments.
- Go to My Waternet and log in with your DigiD.
- Adjust your payment method to 'pay in instalments or direct debit'
- We will deduct the amounts near the end of the month, usually around the 28th.
I cannot pay the assessment. What can I do?
If you can't pay your bills, first check if you can aply for remission.
